Driver's daily working regime
The duration of the driver's working hours should be a maximum of 9 hours. This time can be exceeded, but not more than twice a week and at most up to 10 hours.
Weekly / fortnightly working schedule of the driver
The driver's working hours must not exceed 56 hours per week. The total duration of the driver's working time during 2 weeks should not exceed 90 hours.
Break
After 4.5 hours of driving, drivers must take a small break for at least 45 minutes (unless you take a long break). The break can be divided into two parts and used for 4.5 hours of driving. The break can be divided as follows:
1) The first part should be at least 15 minutes
2) The second - at least 30 minutes.
Safe driving
Poor health and tiredness reduce a driver's ability to drive confidently and are the cause of one in five road accidents.
During transportation the driver works 24/7 - he drives at certain hours, makes breaks at certain hours and regularly takes care of the safety of the cargo.

Eco-driving
Eco-driving is the style of driving, which helps not only to reduce fuel consumption, operating costs, but also to make the environment safer and cleaner.
Basic rules of eco driving:
- Be careful to avoid unnecessary stops and always keep a safe distance.
- Achievement of the goal faster, costs more. A very important yardstick is to maintain the average speed of the truck, avoiding unnecessary delays. But at the same time, do not forget about the safe speed.
- Each truck has its own "green" engine speed zone. While driving, you should always try to keep the engine speed only in this zone.
- Autopilot is a system designed to maintain a constant speed of the truck. It is recommended to use the autopilot on a flat road. As a result of the correct use of autopilot, fuel consumption becomes much less.
- According to statistics, if the tire pressure of the entire truck is half a bar less than specified, then fuel consumption can increase by 4%. It is recommended to check the tire pressure once a week. By regularly monitoring tire pressure, maximum savings can be achieved.
What is the 4 seconds rule?
Keeping distance is one of the most important principles of safe driving. Truck drivers must follow the four seconds rule to ensure that sufficient distance is maintained. Select a stationary object on the side of the road, such as a tree or a traffic sign. As soon as the truck in front of you passes it, start counting out loud: "one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, one thousand four."
If you passed the landmark faster than the numbers were said, you are not keeping enough distance. Assure a bigger distance and repeat the text again.
How to avoid "scissors" accident ?
"Scissors" is an accident in which the semi-trailer loses synchronization with the truck and bends into an "L" or "V" shape. This type of accident is very dangerous, as the truck can roll over even at low speed. It usually occurs during the hard braking on wet or slippery roads, but most often the real cause is driver negligence, inexperience or fatigue. To avoid "scissors" drivers need to keep a safe distance from other vehicles on the road (especially on slippery roads), do not brake when cornering, in critical situations try not to brake and maneuver at the same time, on slippery roads make sure that the semi-trailer does not sway (especially when it is empty), keep the wheel down when maneuvering in reverse.
How to reduce fuel consumption during the driving uphill?
- Take your foot off the accelerator, let the truck do its duty
- Brake as little as possible, but do not forget about safety
- When you notice that you are approaching a hill, increase the speed so that the truck climbs up the hill and gains the greatest inertia.
- Do not engage a lower gear
- Drive coasting the top of the slope
- Drive coasting as far as possible
